MOGADISHU (HOL) – Prime Minister Mohamed Roble has announced the appointment of General Bashir Gobe as the state minister for public works following a pact with President Mohamed Farmaajo Thursday.
According to the deal announced on Thursday ending the feud between Farmaajo and Roble, General Gobe was to be appointed as a state minister.
He had been appointed by Roble as the director-general of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) but did not take office after Farmaajo’s appointee Yasin Farey took charge at the agency.
In the new deal Thursday, Security Minister Abdullahi Nur retained his position.
The agreement followed weeks of cold relations between Farmaajo and Roble threatening to undermine the ongoing elections.
