MOGADISHU (HOL) – A TV journalist in Mogadishu suffered knife stab wounds Wednesday night following an attack by unidentified assailants.
advertisementsAccording to Somali Journalists Syndicate (SJS), Hanad Guled who is the editor of Mogadishu based Goobjoog Television was attacked and stabbed while on his way home from work at around 11 pm.
Goobjoog News, an affiliate of Goobjoog TV reported that the journalist was in a stable condition and doctors had advised he ‘completes treatment at home’.
SJS secretary-general Abdalle Mumin condemned the attack of the syndicate’s official.
“The attack and beating against our Secretary of Training amounts to an attack on all our members and we condemn in the strongest terms possible,” Mumin said. “We are particularly concerned amid ongoing threats on our union officials and staff. We hope for a speedy recovery of our colleague.”
He called on the police to investigate and bring to book the attackers.
