Beledweyne (HOL) – The President of Hirshabelle, Ali Abdullahi Hussein, has fired his deputy security minister of the Hirshabelle region Hassan Mohamed Elmi on Friday.
A statement released from President Ali Guudlaawe confirmed the termination but did not elaborate on its reasoning.
Elmi’s dismissal comes as accusations that he defrauded a Somali mother out of $1,500 began to circulate on social media. The woman claimed that she paid the deputy security minister to obtain a Turkish travel visa.
There was no immediate word from Hirshabelle’s deputy security minister, Hassan Mohamed Elmi, about his dismissal or the statement that he allegedly ate money from a Somali mother.
